Ardent Office Solutions ltd recognises that
climate change is a serious global problem. As a business we are
committed to managing our environmental responsibilities and
minimising our contribution to climate change. To meet this goal we
aim to focus on the 2 key environmental impacts within our business,
Electricity and Transport which currently make up 97.1% of our
measured footprint of 45.8 tonnes of Co2e.
By working together with all our staff, and
customers and keeping them aware of our carbon reduction programme
performance, it will be possible to achieve our environmental
objectives.
To achieve our environmental objectives we
will:
1.
Reduce our
carbon footprint by 5-10% in the first year of our carbon reduction
programme from the current level of 45.8 tonnes of C02e.
2.
Raise awareness
internally through our carbon reduction action plan of the steps we
need to take to reduce our carbon footprint.
3.
Provide regular
feedback to our staff and customers of our carbon footprint
performance and encourage them to participate in the carbon
reduction programme we have designed.
4.
Centralise
electrical equipment to multifunctional devices where possible
reducing electricity requirement.
5.
Maintain optimum
temperature and timing settings to ensure heating/cooling remains
off between the deadband temperature zone of 19-24 degrees Celsius.
6.
Implement a
green fleet management policy and ensure all drivers are familiar
with principles.
Ardent Office Solutions Ltd is committed to managing its
environmental responsibilities and is fully compliant with UK,
Republic of Ireland and EU regulations where applicable.
To ensure the continued reduction of
our carbon footprint we have set a 3 year target to reduce our
current carbon footprint of 45.8 tonnes of C02e by 20%. The action
plan to achieve this will be communicated to our staff and customers
through the use of our website and posting on our carbon reduction
action board showing our commitments, action plan and results.
The environmental policy will be
published and shown in reception areas, in general communications
and on our website. A full annual review will take place alongside
quarterly action plans reviews within management meeting.
An internal green team headed up by
Craig Ashby and consisting key business members Adrian Ayland and
Sarah Ilott will be responsible for the action plan implementation
and subsequent reduction of our carbon footprint.
